Streetsrose was the name created by co-founders Will Rise and Elliot Rowe late one fall evening in 2007 after a long night of brainstorming. The name's inspiration came from Tupac Shakur's "The Rose That Grew From Concrete" featured below.
"Did you hear about the rose that grew
from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature's law is wrong it
learned to walk with out having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping its dreams,
it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete
when no one else ever cared."
Streetsrose is about something beautiful coming from adversity. It is about dreaming to be something more than a Statistic, something more than your surroundings. The name Streetsrose reminds us daily of why we started making music in the first place and why we strive to make our music and ourselves better.
It is our Creed, Our inspiration and our Dream.
